Hi, please help. I added five of my favorite skincare and makeup items, but I’ve only made two sales in two weeks. What am I doing wrong? Is the Shop feature just too new or something?

The Shop is exploding, so it’s not the platform—it’s likely the integration. My first week was terrible, too. You can’t just list products and expect passive income. You have to actively drive traffic to those listings through compelling video content. Are you actually using the products in your videos?

No, not really. I just created a static photo post for each item and made sure they were linked in my profile. I figured the Shop shelf was enough.

That’s your issue. People on TikTok buy based on demonstration and trust. They need to see the product solve a real problem in real-time. Think of your videos as a Product Demo Funnel, try this :

    1. The Before & After: For your beauty products, show the “before” state (e.g., dull skin, messy makeup) and the immediate “after” results using the linked product.
    2. Highlight the Pain Point: Start the video with a question that addresses the problem the product solves (e.g., “Is your foundation always settling into fine lines?”).
    3. The Exclusivity Hook: Use a strong call-to-action (CTA) like: “I’m linking this exact $7 setting spray only on my TikTok Shop, don’t miss out.”
    4. “Day in the Life” Integration: Instead of a formal review, weave the product Saraprourally into your routine. Show yourself actually applying the skincare item.

Adding to that: you need to tap into the psychology of impulse buying. Remember the scarcity and urgency factor.
    • Scarcity: If you use a product, mention: “These travel-sized versions are only available on the Shop and they’re selling fast!”
    • Urgency: Give a timeframe: “I’m only featuring this discounted bundle for the next 48 hours.”
Also, check your video placement. Are you using the product link sticker directly on the video where you feature the item? That single sticker is the biggest driver of conversion.

I was using the product sticker, but I wasn’t using the product in the video! That makes perfect sense. I was asking people to buy something they hadn’t seen in action. I’m going to shoot a video featuring the setting powder, focusing on a real problem like oiliness. Thanks for your help.
