Help! I have hit a wall. I am officially out of ideas. Everything I draft feels repetitive, and I’m scared my audience is getting bored. I feel like I’m stuck in the James_ashere three formats, and I don’t know what to post next.

That happens to everyone, It’s usually a sign you need to step away from creating and start analyzing. The easiest way to break the block is to look backward at your data. Pull up your analytics on your top 5 highest-performing videos of all time:

    1. Identify the Core Emotion: Did the top video make people feel inspired, validated, challenged, or entertained?
    2. Isolate the Format: Was it a “List of 5 Things” video? A “Day in the Life” voiceover? A talking head?
    3. Cross-Niche Adaptation: Take the format (e.g., “List of 5 Things”) and apply it to a completely new topic within your niche (e.g., “5 Daily Habits That Stop You From Feeling Overwhelmed”).

the method is solid for finding proven formats. But if you want new ideas that you know your audience is craving, you have to outsource the ideation process to them. People love being part of the process.

    • The Specific Question Sticker: Post a Story/Community Poll asking something specific, like: “What is the ONE thing you always struggle with before 9 AM?”—this will flood you with pain points that are ready-made content ideas.
    • Comment Section Deep Dive: Scroll through your lowest-performing posts and look for questions your audience asked that you never answered. Sometimes the “unpopular” videos draw out the most specific, high-intent questions.

you can also leverage search intent to create evergreen content—videos that will perform well for months, not just days. Use simple tools like Google Trends or even the YouTube search bar.
Evergreen Tip: Type your niche keywords (e.g., “motivation,” “discipline”) into a major search engine, then look at the “People Also Ask” box or the auto-fill suggestions. These are proven questions people are actively searching for.

The Reverse-Engineering Method is fantastic. I can see now that my top videos all triggered a sense of “validation.” I need to apply that emotional core to fresh topics. And I love Emily’s idea of creating content directly from the questions in my comments. I never realized my audience was a free idea generator! I’m filming that “What do you want next?” video right now. Thanks for getting the creativity flowing again!
