bentamin albertParticipantQuick question for the vets: some videos just bomb—like 200 views after 24 hours. Should I just delete those low-performers? I’m worried they’re dragging down my page’s overall “score” with the algorithm. Anyone know if deleting actually helps?

Sophie smithParticipantDON’T DELETE! Seriously, stop. 🙅♀️ The consensus from every major creator is that deleting videos doesn’t “reset” your algorithm score or remove any supposed “bad history.” TikTok isn’t that petty, lol. Plus, you never know when one might hit the FYP late.

bentamin albertParticipantReally? I keep seeing advice that says any video under 1k views is a drain. Why would a video suddenly blow up weeks later?

Sophie smithParticipantIt’s called the late bloomer effect! I had a super detailed smokey eye tutorial that sat at around 400 views for four solid days. I was ready to archive it. Then, on day 8, I woke up to it hitting 500k, and it topped out at 2.1 million. The algorithm sometimes re-tests older content, especially if the topic is evergreen (like education/tutorials). If you really hate seeing it on your profile, just set it to private instead of deleting. You preserve the data, and it keeps the slim chance of a late push alive! ✨

bentamin albertParticipantWow, 2.1 million! Okay, that’s convincing enough for me. I’m definitely going to stop deleting and just use the ‘Private’ option going forward. Thanks for saving my late bloomers.
