Chris denialParticipantHas anyone dealt with a messy collab? I teamed up with a mid-size creator last week. I posted my half on the agreed date, but he’s barely mentioned it and still hasn’t posted his video. Now my audience is in the comments asking if we had a falling out or if I’m beefing with him! I feel like I did all the promo work for nothing. What did I miss?

Sara denisParticipantUgh, the classic collab ghosting. Been there. It SUCKS. It’s a rite of passage, unfortunately. You missed the pre-production agreement. Next time, you have to treat it like a mini-business partnership, even if you’re just DMing a handshake deal. You need to agree on:
* Posting Date & Time: Be specific (e.g., “Tuesday, 4 PM EST”).
* Cross-Promo Strategy: Are both of you sharing the other’s video to Stories? How many times?
* Video Format & Tagging: Who goes first? Is it a duet, stitch, or separate video? MUST tag each other in the caption AND on the screen.
* Draft Approval: Exchange unposted drafts 24 hours before to ensure everyone is happy. The lack of a defined posting date is usually the killer.

Chris denialParticipantThat’s what it was. We just said “sometime this week.” I honestly didn’t think about making a formal checklist. I just assumed we were both stoked to get it done. Live and learn!

Sara denisParticipantExactly! Don’t feel bad. It happens once, and you learn your lesson. Now, go slide into that dude’s DMs and politely say, “Hey, just following up on the collab! Want to set a solid time for your post before I do my final promo blast?” That usually gets them moving. And for next time, just keep a running Collab Checklist in your Notes app. Saves so much drama! 🤝
